Hills appoint Fish to advise on Snowbetting
This year, for the first time in 30 years of white Christmas betting, bookmakers William Hill will be accepting wagers on snow falling on Buckingham Palace during the 24hr period of Christmas day. Hills have made the move following the revelation that the Met Office weather station in London will no longer be a manned station 24hrs a day. Fortunately for festive flutters lovers the Met Office have given assurance that advances in technology will mean that they will be able to give a result for Buckingham Palace and the surrounding area.Michael Fish, who is acting as an adviser to Hill's on the chances of a White Christmas this year, speaking at a press conference earlier this week said, "It looks highly unlikely we will be seeing a white Christmas this year, although at this early stage it is very difficult to predict." As we know Fish has been wrong in the past and there might be value in this bet.Hills also offer 20/1 that the record top temperature is beaten on Christmas Day (Presently- 15.6C 1920 Kilerton Devon)William Hill Latest White Christmas Betting7/2 Dublin (Trinity Uni)7/2 Glasgow (Cathedral)7/1 Manchester (Coronation st)7/1 Birmingham (The Bullring)7/1 Liverpool (Albert docks)8/1 Cardiff (Millennium stadium)8/1 Exeter (Met office)8/1 Leeds (William Hill Head Office)8/1 London (Buckingham Palace)(Note: Paddypower have lots of betting markets open for snow at Christmas and offer many international Christmas markets as well)
