HOLLAND VS SPAIN 2010 WORLD CUP FINAL PREDICTIONS AND BETTING TIPS
We're still a few days away from the kick-off of the 2010 World Cup Final, but rest assured that this isn't stopping anybody from turning this match into, basically, the biggest betting event of the year. More money will be wagered by more people -- both with registered bookmakers and in side bets among friends -- on this match than anything else that will occur all year.
The bookmakers and the Octopus are both giving this match to Spain and they are priced at 6/5 to win the match in 90 minutes while Holland are trading at a 13/5 price tag. You can back the draw at 11/5 and I think that's going to be a fairly popular bet.
If you're looking to back either team to win the match outright (including extra-time and penalties) you're looking at a 4/7 price for Spain and 6/4 for the Dutch.
The favoured correct score is a 1-0 result to Spain at 9/2 and that's not entirely surprising. They have won most of their matches by 1-0 margins with the goal scored after the 60th minute. A 1-1 draw is priced at 5/1 while a 1-0 result to Holland and a 0-0 draw are both priced at 7/1.
A 2-1 result to the Dutch pays out at 12/1 while the same scoreline to Spain is priced at 17/2. A 2-2 draw is priced at 18/1 while a 3-2 result to Holland trades at a massive 60/1 while 3-2 to Spain is priced at 35/1. I think a five goal match is a long-shot, but if the Dutch score first and Spain have to chase the match then we could easily see a scoreline like that.
The bookmakers don't favour many goals in this one with the over/under on goals at 2.5 favouring the under. You'll find that priced at a slim 1/2 while the over 2.5 is priced at 6/4. Over 3.5 goals trades at 4/1 while over 4.5 is 10/1.
England's Howard Webb has been selected to referee this match and he is priced at 10/3 to award a penalty during normal time and 11/4 to award one if you include extra-time as well. He is 11/4 to send a player off in normal time and a massive 25/1 to order a penalty to be retaken during normal ime. If he doesn't issue a single card all match, you're looking at 14/1. With Van Bommel on the pitch that isn't too likely.
A penalty to be awarded in the first minute of the match is priced at 100/1 and he's at the same price to disallow a goal because the final whistle had been blown. He is 20/1 to award at least one penalty to each team and he's at 8/1 to award a goal when a clear handball has occurred in the build-up.
Should a goal cross the line and not be awarded, you've got a 50/1 payout. If a goal is awarded and the ball hasn't crossed the line, then it's 50/1 as well.
