HORSE RACING TIPS FOR OCTOBER 28 AT PUNCHESTOWN KEMPTON AND NOTTINGHAM
We've got a full schedule of racing happening on Wednesday and we've got a few early tips for you to give the handicappers a bit of food for thought. Wednesday October 28 sees action at Nottingham, Musselburgh, Haydock, Kempton and Punchestown. I had a few solid selections on Tuesday, most notably Arkendale and Rookery Rebel to finish top 2 in the 3:55 at Punchestown. The 3:15 Moutard Champagne Handicap at Nottingham, a class 4 event over 1m75y, is a very interesting race with three or four real contenders in this one. As it currently stands, Observatory Star is the 9/2 favourite, but I'm leaning towards Kiwi Bay at 5/1. He enjoys the surface and looks a progressive horse from my angle. He comes into the race 2-4-1-3 since early August and three of those races came against fields larger than 12. Keep your eye on Ocean Transit and Arizona John. Both of whom are at 6/1, but I think a bit of movement towards either could trigger a drop in price. I've also got my eye on the 3:20 at Punchestown - the Dobbins Panoramic Restaurant Beginners Chase. It's a decent-sized field with some well-rated runners set to go, but my eyes are on Tony McCoy and Jered- a 7 year-old out of La Noire by Presenting. The JP McManus-owned charge had a very solid 07 and 08, but stepped up to take on the likes of Punjabi and Solwhit and didn't achieve the desired result. I think the drop in class is just the ticket here and I think this is a great each-way selection. We're heading over to Kempton at 7:50 for a go at the all-weather surface for the Digibet Casino Handicap, a division 1 class 6 event for 3 year-olds and up. I'm leaning towards The Grey One right now, who has put together a solid run of results and is looking for the second score on the bounce here. He gives up about 6 extra pounds, but I think he will actually make the most of the handicap here. His previous victory came over Thunderstruck and a field of 10, again on the all-weather at Wolverhampton. Punters are expected to drift towards Fine Ruler, but I don't think he has the guile to take this one against a proven all-weather performer.
