Horseracing odds: Victor Chandler Chase

Twist Magic is as short as 1/2 with Bet365 for the Victor Chandler Chase at Ascot this Saturday. Just eight horses stood their ground at Tuesday's declaration stage for the Grade 1 feature at the Berkshire track, and Bet365 were forced to cut their price after the impressive Tingle Creek winner scared off potential opponents. Clcik here for a free Bet365 £100 to bet on the Victor Chandler Chase with Bet365 Twist Magic won the Tingle Creek at Sandown in early December by three lengths from the reigning Champion Chaser Voy Por Ustedes. It was an impressive performance on soft ground, and similar going this weekend should see trainer Paul Nicholls' charge in his best light. Twist Magic is as short as 6/4 with Totesport for this year's Champion Chase, with Saturday's rival, Mansony, trading at 14/1 with Paddy Power for the Festival's two-mile championship. Mansony, who is 4/1 with Ladbrokes for Saturday's big race, is one of two Irish entries, the other being Schindlers Hunt, who is 11/1 with Stan James to win this weekend, and 33/1 with Coral to spring a surprise on March 12th. Nicholls doesn't rely soley on Twist Magic however, and Hoo La Baloo also makes the line-up. The seven-year-old has been busy recently - he hasn't really had a break since October 2006 - but he wasn't good enough when out-pointed by Voy Por Ustedes at Kempton on December 27th. Former Arkle runner-up Ashley Brook looks the forgotten horse of the race however, and Paddy Brennan's mount is 10/1 across the board. He looked useful before falling on his reapperance this season behind Monet's Garden and Kauto Star at Aintree in October but struggled to compete for the lead when trailling in a moody fifth behind Twist Magic at Sandown. Bet Direct have livened up the Victor Chandler Chase by betting without the favourite. Mansony heads the list as the 5/4 market leader, but Ashley Brook is 9/2, with Schindlers Hunt 5/1 and Hoo La Baloo 8/1. The field is completed by the David Pipe duo of Haldon Cup hero Pablo Du Charmil and Boylesports.com Gold Cup winner Taraminbleu and Mark Gillard's Pauntley Gofa, who is 500/1 with sponsors VCbet.
