Huntingdon & Lingfield
At Huntingdon Edredon Bleu will be bidding to win the Peterborough Chase (14.45) for a fifth time, but it is three years since his last win and now rising 13 he may struggle to give the weight to Le Roi Miguel. The latter was a good novice a couple of seasons back but seemed to lose his way last season, hitting the deck on a couple of occasions. However, it came to light that he was suffering from a breathing problem, and it is hoped that a subsequent operation this summer will have corrected it. An encouraging run over hurdles last month will have put him spot on for this, and he looks a good bet to get his chase career back on track. On the all-weather surface at Lingfield, Compton Bolter looks sure to give a good account of himself in the Churchill Stakes (15.15), a race he has won three times (2000, 2001, and last year) He has looked as good as ever on the turf this year, and a short break will have freshened him up for a repeat win. Last years' second Grand Passion again looks the main danger. In the betdirect.co.uk Handicap (15.45) Jay Gees Choice can follow up his all-weather debut win. The four-year-old ran right up to the pick of his turf form to beat Miss George over this distance, and the second has franked the form since by winning a listed event next time out.CHANNEL 4 OFFER FROM BET365Channel 4 are showing 6 races from Huntingdon and Lingfield this Saturday.
