INDIAN WELLS BETTING TIPS RAFAEL NADAL BEGINS TITLE DEFENCE CAMPAIGN

Rafael Nadal is set to make his first appearance since withdrawing from the Aussie Open quarters against Andy Murray. His return to action has been long awaited and now that it is finally here, all eyes will be on him; his every move, shot and fist pump will be put under the microscope, scrutinized and analysed to determine where his form truly lies. You see, Nadal has the small matter of defending his BNP Paribas Open title at Indian Wells this week and the tipping question is whether he will do so successfully.
Nadal begins his title defence campaign against seasoned veteran, Rainer Schuettler. Popular bookmaker, has rolled out a whole slew of tennis betting odds on their second round billing. Naturally, Nadal is the hot favourite to win outright, carrying a price of 1/20 at the expense of Schuettler, listed at 8/1.
Now, betting against Nadal might hold appeal initially, seeing as he is short on match play and his form might be questionable. Those in the know, know Nadal is not the type of player to enter a match unprepared and, oh, I don't know, tinker with his game, experiment with new moves and hope to wing it to happy conclusion (ehem, yes looking at you Muzz!) In knowing this, punters can be sure Nadal will be ready and bring out his “A” game, even for a wily veteran such as Schuettler.
While no sound basis exists to promote betting against Nadal in the outright win market as a good strategy, betting on performance, specifically against Nadal on performance, does hold value.  Schuettler, 33, is a wily veteran that could account well enough against Nadal. Make him earn the win at the very least.
Here are just some of many . A bit of a teaser if you will.
In the set betting market, Nadal is listed at 1/7 to win in straight sets and 6/1 to win in three sets. Betting on the number of sets in this match without determining the winner is another option. For a straight set affair, the price is 1/7 while a three-setter is going for 4/1 odds.
The first set is trading for 11/2 in favour of Schuettler and 1/10 in favour of Nadal. Predicting the score line of the 1st set offers loads of brilliant options – Schuettler to win 6-4, 7-5 or 7-6 are reasonable options and they are on the market for 18/1, 33/1 and 20/1 respectively. Nadal to win 6-3 is the listed at mere 3/1 odds while to win 6-4 is listed at 18/5. Nadal to take the first set 7-5 or 7-6 is going for 11/1 and 17/2 respectively.
