INTER MILAN VS. WERDER BREMEN- CHAMPS EXPECTED TO PROSPER
Current champions Inter Milan host Werder Bremen tonight at the San Siro, looking to register their first win of the European season.
Both coaches, Rafael Benitez as well as Thomas Schaaf, face serious injury concerns heading into this match-up tonight
The Nerazzurri is likely to be without striker Diego Milito, who suffered a strained thigh in last weekend's loss to Roma. Striker Goran Pandev is also a serious doubt heading in struggling to recover from an ankle knock.
Add this to the loss of Inter captain Javier Zanetti, Thaigo Motta as well as centre-backs Walter Samuel and Marco Materazzi , and one begins to feel that this team might be somewhat vulnerable
Benitez refuses to be tied down however, publicly stating during the week;"The squad is still dangerous when it has the ball, when it attacks and on the counter-attack, but we've got to work on being more compact and improving the defence"
Bremen will also be without captain Torsten Frings, Claudio Pizarro and defender Clemens Fritz
Despite the losses of the formidable players listed, Inter are still heavy favourites to take tonight’s clash with William Hill putting them at 1.53, to Bremen's 6.5
On the scoreline- an Inter win at 2-0 can be seen at 8.0 even, with a 3-1 registering at 12.0
Probably the pick of the lot is for Inter to win both halves at 2.37
For Inter, if Samuel Eto'o is to open the scoring will see a good few pennies earned with a rather lucrative odds offer of 5.0, and 2.0 to score at anytime
For Werder- Claudio Pizarro is favourite at 3.25, with Austrian youngster Marko Arnautovic next up 3.75
Werder Bremen is a gritty side that always give a good fight, but without two of their most talented players it will be an extremely tough task to leave Milan tonight with a win.
Betting Tip: Inter to win both halves at 2.37
