IRELAND VS FRANCE WORLD CUP QUALIFIER 2ND LEG BETTING TIPS

You can’t understate the size of this match for the Irish team and their devoted legion of fans. Facing down a 1-0 aggregate scoreline and heading for a match in Paris is a tough ask for nearly any team, but I have a feeling that the Irish may just sneak this one. It’s going to take one of Giovanni Trappatoni’s finest managerial performances if he is to pull this off, but there is no way that it can’t be done. France barely got here in the first place and the Irish fought tooth and nail the entire time. I think that this could be a match about grit and resilience, two things which always favours the Irish over the French.
Top bookmaker BetFred is listing the Irish at 6/1 to win this match within 90 minutes. I think the key will be a goal for Ireland within the first 30 minutes or so. I actually think if they go a goal down early to France it isn’t the end of the world as two away goals would still see Ireland through. France are 8/15, which I consider quite short, and the draw pays 11/4. A draw doesn’t do it for Ireland.
The favoured correct score margins are 1-0 to France at 5/1, and 2-0 and 1-1 at 11/2. For Ireland to force extra time, you’re looking at 1-0 which pays out at 9/1. A 2-1 Irish victory pays out at a massive 20/1.
In terms of the double-result, France/France is the favoured outcome, but I’m looking at Draw/Ireland at a massive 12/1.
France have a full seven players with shorter odds than their likeliest first goalscorer. Nicolas Anelka is listed at 4/1, Karim Benzema at 9/2. Andre-Perre Gignac can be backed at 5/1 with Thierry Henry a popular option at 11/2, Lioc Remy trades at 6/1 while Yoann Gourcuff and Sidney Govou are listed at 8/1. The incredibly-named Rod Fanni is 33/1, even though he has virtually no chance of scoring- I just wanted to say Rod Fanni.
Robbie Keane is at 9/1 while Kevin Doyle can be backed at 10/1.
If you’re looking to back a scorecast, why not push all in and go for Nicolas Anelka to score first with Ireland winning 2-1 @ 160/1.
