JUAN MANUEL MARQUEZ VS JUAN DIAZ LATEST ODDS AND BETTING PREDICTIONS
As the boxing world attempts to distract itself from the lack of a Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather fight, the attention is going to be turning to Floyd Mayweather's last opponent Juan Manuel Marquez. It was a unanimous decision that Money May really should have won by KO or TKO but I just don't think Floyd was really looking to break a sweat that day.
Marquez faces off against Mexican American Juan Diaz and the bookmakers are all considering Marquez to be the big favourite here. Popular UK-based bookie BetFred have listed Juan Manuel Marquez at a slim 1/3 price to win the match by any method. JUan Diaz can be backed at a 9/4 price tag while the draw is trading at its usual 25/1 odds despite the fact that it more or less never happens.
The favoured method of victory shows some very intriguing odds though and that's where this one gets interesting. Juan Manuel Marquez is priced at 6/4 to win by either TKO or KO and is also at 6/4 to win on points.
Should Juan Diaz pull off the victory, you're looking at 3/1 for a points victory and a distant 15/2 for the KO or TKO victory. I think that if Diaz is going to get the win here, it will likely be by a KO or TKO in the late rounds.
Marquez has shown that he tends to gas around the 8th round or so and if Diaz can hit him hard early on and then back off and let him expend the bulk of his energy; I think we could see a potential upset here.
If you do fancy a KO or TKO on either side, there are some very solid odds available on the round betting here. Unsurprisingly, the later rounds are favoured for the victory. Juan Manuel Marquez is priced as low as 18/1 to win rounds 7-10 while he is 20/1 for the sixth round and 25/1 for the fifth round. Juan Diaz is priced at 50/1 to win in rounds 8-10 and 66/1 for rounds 6 and 7. He is 80/1 to win in rounds 2-5 and 100/1 for the first round.
