Kauto Star 2009 Cheltenham Betting Tips
Kauto Star is a top finisher and performance horse known for his Cheltenham Festival heroics and well-publicized partnership with jockey Ruby Walsh. If anybody is talking about living legends in the world of jumps racing, then you know that sooner or later the words "Kauto Star" will come up sooner rather than later. As one of the premier equines on the world circuit, Kauto Star has been delivering on his incredible potential since his break-out 2006/2007 season where he emerged victorious with a perfect record of six out of six high-class races. Kauto Star was originally purchased by Clive Smith in 2004 for £280,000. A bidding war later erupted between Garde Champetre and Irish millionaire (and former Manchester United owner) JP McManus, with McManus eventually winning out with a massive £495,000 outlay. Money well spent. His emergence onto the UK horseracing scene was solidified in his first major race, where he defeated Foreman by 9 lengths at Newbury. After a setback at Exeter, where Kauto Star picked up an injury which sidelined him for 11 months, many started to wonder whether Kauto was the real deal. In 2006/7 the critics were answered. That season, he won the Betfair Chase at Haydock Park, the King George VI Chase at Kempton, the Tingle Creek Chase, the Aon Chase, and a dramatic performance at the Cheltenham Gold Cup which completed the final leg of the Betfair Million. Horseracing immortality was achieved. KAUTO STAR BETTING TIPSIf you're looking to back Kauto Star, you're probably one of a large crowd and you will never see this horse pegged back at 10/1. Every time Kauto runs, he is the out-and-out favourite. In terms of strategy, you always need to watch Kauto on the last two hurdles as these are the ones that he will usually have trouble with. Generally not the leader at the opening phase in the race, Kauto Star tends to hold on and conserve energy until the middle portion of the race where he will suddenly start to kick into sixth gear running onto the final few hurdles. Earning the name "White Knuckle Ride" doesn't happen by accident and one of the reasons why Kauto Star has enchanted so many horseracing aficionados is the sheer excitement generated by his victories. Watch out for Kauto against especially strong finishers and horses who always take the last few jumps in style. Kauto Star is a horse that excels in the final 50% of the track and in-run wagering on his races can be extremely lucrative if your reflexes and timing are stellar.
