KENNY DALGLISH ODDS CONTINUE TO DROP FOR NEXT LIVERPOOL MANAGER BETTING
Things are definitely getting interesting in the betting market for the next Liverpool manager. You’ll find that while Roy Hodgson is still considered the odds leader to take the position, that the latest news from the Kenny Dalglish camp has sent his price tumbling.
Initially, the Liverpool living legend had been appointed to conduct the search for the next Liverpool manager in the wake of Rafa Benitez’s departure from the club and his subsequent deal to become the next Inter Milan manager (expected to be confirmed early next week). Dalglish had risen to double digits in the betting markets and anybody who got in and backed him early has plenty of options available- they can lay Dalglish at his current price and enjoy a tidy profit or they can double down and back him again, this time at much smaller odds though.
Since our last article was written about this market, all the action seems to be heading in Kenny Dalglish’s direction. He was trading at around 4.0 just a few hours ago and has trended down to 3.35 on Betfair amidst fairly heavy volume. The amount matched now totals over $100,000 US so this is by all means a mature Betfair market.
Former favourite Martin O’Neill has risen to 9.6 and doesn’t seem to be seeing much action. While Fulham’s Roy Hodgson is still considered the favourite, you would have to jump out and say that the current run on Kenny Dalglish makes him the man with the momentum and his price will only drop until an official word comes out. He has reportedly removed himself from the search committee and the appointment could be imminent. What you want to ask yourself is- are they going to announce the next Liverpool manager before the World Cup kicks off?
The simple question remains though- who would you prefer to back? The one whose odds dropped sharply but are now trending back up, or the selection who's odds have dropped dramatically in the past 48 hours and continue to trend downwards? Punters look to be retreating off Roy Hodgson so Dalglish definitely looks the more attractive option if his price remains above 3.0.
