LADBROKES 2009 EUROVISION SEMI FINAL 2 BETTING TIPS
Not too much in way of surprises as we head into the second semi-final for Eurovision 2009. Norway's Alexander Rybak is listed at 1.7 to take the outright victory with Greece's Sakis Rouvas, who has competed at Eurovision before, a ways behind him at 3.25. I can't really see anybody upsetting Rybak unless he forgets the words or somehow falls off the stage. These are the only two plausible winners for this one and Rouvas may be worth an each-way bet just as a bit of insurance. Otherwise, I would go all in on Alexander Rybak. Ireland's Sinead Mulvey is listed alongside Denmark's Brinck, Slovenia's Quartissimo and Lithuania's Sasha Son all at 34.0 for the win. Azerbaijan's Aysel * Arash is at 10.0 with Ukraine's Svetlana Loboda at 11.0. The longest odds are 51.0 and includes Croatia, Cyprus, Hungary, Latvia, Moldova and Slovakia. Ladbrokes has an individual market where you can back virtually every semi final 2 competitor to make it into the competition. The majority of the odds are absolutely slim for the favourites with Rybak listed at 1.01 and Rouvas available at 1.05. Azerbaijan is at 1.1, Ukraine is at 1.2, Estonia is at 1.25, Denmark is at 1.45, Lithuania is at 1.5, Serbia is at 1.57, Albania is at 1.8, while Ireland have fairly long odds at 2.5. This semi-final is definitely not as wide open as the first one was and I expect Rouvas and Rybak to dominate the voting. Based on the performances here, we could see some movement in the actual outright winner markets for the entire competition. If you're looking to back Rybak, I would advise you to back him now. Otherwise, I would definitely wait a little bit on Rouvas as I expect his odds to lengthen a bit in the coming days, unless he puts together a blockbuster performance.
