LADBROKES AMIR KHAN VS ANDRIY KOTELNIK BETTING TIPS
We're about five weeks or so away from the widely-anticipated clash between Britain's Amir Khan and Ukraine's Andriy Kotelnik. This bout will pit two former Olympic silver-medalists up against each other and, after studying the betting markets they've got at Ladbrokes, there is definitely plenty of cash to be made. Amir Khan's odds are listed at 1/2 for the outright victory with Kotelnik sitting at 6/4. The draw, which never happens, pays out at 25/1. Khan is favoured for a points victory here with odds of 11/8 being the current price. Khan by KO, TKO or DQ (which isn't out of the question) pays out at 5/2. If Kotelnik is going to pull off the win, he's favoured to do it by KO, TKO or DQ with a price of 3/1 contrasted to a points-win listed at 5/1. The bookies favour the fight to go the distance with an 8/11 payout if you back a decision. We're at evens to end before the 12th round. Speaking of rounds, that's where you always find the best odds on boxing. Khan's price fluctuates from 40/1 to 25/1. Whereas Kotelnik is listed from 28/1 all the way up to 50/1. Khan's best rounds apper to be 4-9 while Kotelnik's shortest price is from rounds 1-6. Obviously, the bookies think he will need to strike early if he's going to have a chance here. Khan carries a better overall record into the fight and I think he has more to play for here. Khan also tried to get Kotelnik's blood boiling a bit by declaring him the "worst active world champion" while chatting with Steve Bunce. I see this one being a real test for Khan, but one he should be able to handle. I actually think he has a better chance of knocking Kotelnik out than the bookies give him credit for. I can see a Khan victory by KO or TKO in the 8th and drop a points win as a cover bet. Khan is moving up in the world and I think this is another important rung in the ladder.
