Ladbrokes cut the odds on England winning the Ashes from 7/2 to 3/1
Ladbrokes have cut the odds on England winning the Ashes from 7/2 to 3/1 and eased the odds on Australia out to 2/5 from 4/11. Australia were 1/500 to beat Bangladesh, who were 33/1 to win the match in the Natwest Series today. Ladbrokes spokesman Warren Lush said: "We have been forced to cut the odds on England winning the Ashes - punters really believe that Michael Vaughan and his side can finally win the famous urn back."AUSTRALIA V BANGLADESH" This will go down as one of the biggest sporting upsets in history. Even though we offered Bangladesh at 33/1 to win the game before it started we didn't lose much as only 14 people worldwide backed them before the game. It's unbelieveable, in cricket terms it's comparable to the 500/1 we offered on England comeback in the Ashes series of 1981." "People were backing Australia throughout the match. We took a bets of £400 at 1/200 and £1000 at 1/100 while the game was on and this is now firmly in our satchels. Bangladesh are our new best friends.""Money is now piling in for England to win the one day series but Australia remain favourites. Punters are now convinced the Aussies are for the taking."England's odds on winning the one day series have been slashed to 5/4 from 6/4, while Australia drift to 4/7 from 1/2. England's chances of winning tomorrow's match have been cut to 6/5 from 11/8, while Australia drift to 8/15 from 8/13.
