LAS VEGAS DESERT CLASSIC OF DARTS BETTING TIPS
Phil Taylor, unsurprisingly, leads a very distinguished field who are set to contest the 2009 Las Vegas Desert Classic. This is one of the premier darts events of the year to take place on American soil and I'm expecting some very stiff competition, with a very large selection of players all vying to knock "The Power" offline. Phil Taylor's odds are 4/7 for the outright win and we're generally quite used to seeing him carry an odds-on price. James Wade has taken up Raymond van Barneveld's usual position as the 2nd place favourite, but Wade's 7/1 doesn't lie as he is well-placed ahead of both van Barneveld and Gary Anderson, who are carrying a 12/1 price. Colin Osborne and Mervyn King sit alongside Mark Walsh at 20/1 while Terry Jenkins, Adrian Lewis and Simon Whitlock all share 40/1. Other notables include Ronnie Baxter and Co Stompe at 50/1, John Part is listed alongside Jelle Klaasen at 66/1. Wayne Mardle sits at 100/1 and that's a bit of a value bet if you're going to go each-way. William Hill is offering up 1/2 odds on the top two places, so if you think you can predict Phil Taylor's opponent in the final, you're going to make at least 7/2 odds. Right now, you always have to fancy Taylor, but James Wade's Premier League win has left him full of confidence, and wielding the tungsten with some real precision. Buoyed by that, I think a Wade/Taylor showdown in the final is a distinct possibility, but I'm always a fan of Adrian Lewis and I think if any of the two favourites slip up, he'll be your man to take it to the final.
