Latest football odds: Carling Cup - Spurs vs Arsenal
It's not very often that you see Arsenal priced at 21/10 to beat Tottenham but that's what Paddy Power have done for Tuesday's Carling Cup semi-final at White Hart Lane (SS1 20:00). However, the monkey was soon back on the backs of Spurs supporters when Theo Walcott fluked an equaliser with eleven minutes to go, leaving the tie delicately-poised at 1-1. With his side one match from Wembley Arsene Wenger must choose whether or not to rest his big guns and keep his powder dry for the visit of Kevin Keegan's Newcastle in the FA Cup fourth round at the weekend or whether to field a stronger side than the one that struggled at the Emirates in the first leg. Wenger will doubtless be tempted to strengthen his side, particularly at the back where Philippe Senderos, Johan Djourou, Justin Hoyte and Armand Traore looked a decidedly shaky combination. And it's a blessing for Gooners that Djourou is injured, because that will almost certainly see William Gallas deployed to stem the threat of Dimitar Berbatov, Robbie Keane and Steed Malbranque, who returns from suspension looking to make amends for the two sitters he missed first time around. Gallas's presence will be a huge fillip to Arsenal, for whom Nicklas Bentner will probably partner the improving Eduardo in an attack shorn of the injured Robin Van Persie, while Ledley King, who played so well a fortnight ago, is also expected to make a reappearance for the hosts. This is an evenly-balanced contest which is too close to call given Arsenal's inexperience, Ramos's undisputed Cup pedigree and a likely raucous White Hart Lane. The 21/10 price for an Arsenal win is tempting but the 23/10 about a draw looks even better value and has probably been calculated on the basis that most punters on live matches, particularly matches that polarises opinion so much, don't tend to back the draw. This one could even go all the way to extra time and penalties so take the value option. Verdict: 2pts Tottenham v Arsenal to draw @ 23/10 (Paddy Power); 1pt correct score 1-1 @ 11/2 (money back special if last goal is a header with Paddy Power) Click here for a free Paddy Power Poker $600 welcome bonus when you join Paddy Power Poker
