LATEST TRANSFER BETTING ODDS FOR MASCHERANO, GIVEN AND SCHWARZER

While the end of August is rapidly upon us and the English Premier League season is well and truly underway, there is still the matter of a few interesting transfers that just might force themselves through by the end of the month.
A lot of the hot chatter from earlier in the summer has more or less been put to bed as the likes of Fernando Torres and Cesc Fabregas look to be staying put. Keep in mind that James Milner, the seasons most boring transfer move, has only just wrapped itself up.
The open exchange at Betfair is an interesting spot to play the transfer betting game as you're dealing with constantly fluctuating prices that you sometimes can't get anywhere else. Additionally, the markets are just for the player to move in lieu of moving to a specific side, which tends to be the case at other more traditional bookmakers.
Javier Mascherano looks to be a near-certainty to depart Liverpool and he is priced at 2.02 to remain at Liverpool while he is a slim 1.15 to depart. That certainly gives you an idea of just how likely he is to move- many expect him to be gone by the end of the weekend. If you don't think the Masch is on the way, that 2.02 doesn't look too bad.
Scott Parker is another interesting prospect if you're looking to take a bet and he was supposedly involved in a make-weight deal that collapsed just a few days ago. If Parker moves by the end of the transfer window, you can lock in a 5.9 price tag while he's trading at 1.14 to stay at West Ham.
Mark Schwarzer looks to be a better laying opportunity at Betfair right now with a listing of 1.33 to depart his current club. You can back him at 1.6 to remain, but I seriously think Arsene Wenger is sitting on enough money and, frankly they need him badly. I would lay odds at anywheres up to 2.2 for Mark Schwarzer to be out the door come September 1.
Speaking of keepers, we've got Shay Given likely to leave Manchester City now that England's up-and-comer Joe Hart looks to have locked down his starting spot with some sublime performances. I think it's great news for England that we finally have a young player getting regular first team football at a competitive side. It's a sucky deal for Shay Given though, and the punters seem to think he's on the way out. Given to stay pays out at 1.7 while Given to leave is trading around 1.5.
You can lock in a 9.4 price on Carlos Tevez to leave Manchester City by the end of the transfer window while Roque Santa Cruz is priced at a solid 2.1 to remain at City. He is a miniscule 1.07 to leave.
Robbie Keane is another interesting situation and he's at 1.67 to remain at Spurs and 1.25 to depart. Personally, I could see him hanging around, but I'd like even-money odds or better.
