Latest Transfer Betting Update Part 3
- By Allan Pederson on August 5, 2013 15:42 GMTChelsea can be backed at an 8/11 price to be Rooney’s location on September third and you reckon that’s not actually a bad price. He was trading at a much shorter listing just a week ago. United, at one point, were a 5/2 shot to be Rooney’s club at the start of the new Premier League season but that listing has now been trimmed down to evens.

The Arsenal move that many fans were clamoring for earlier in the summer now appears an unlikely move with a 6/1 price tag out there and no actual bids coming out of the Emirates camp. PSG had been linked with Rooney throughout the summer but they are a 12/1 listing at the moment and looking likely to go elsewhere. At this point in time, it looks like Chelsea or bust for Wayne Rooney but another key signing - a statement of intent - that’s not in Rooney’s position would probably be enough to persuade the scouse sensation to remain at Old Trafford.
Speaking of the devil, Barcelona remain the extremely likely home of Cesc Fabregas for another year as David Moyes continues his dogged pursuit of the former Arsenal talisman. A fresh bid appears to have been rejected over the past several days and Moyes described the situation as “ongoing” to the media.
Right now, punters will find Barcelona at a 2/7 price to be Fabregas’ club next season with Arsenal and United both trading at 4/1. The fact that Arsenal, who have not submitted a bid for Fabregas, are trading at the same price as a club who have had at least two bids rejected says it all about the likelihood of this move. How much egg will be on David Moyes’ face if he can’t lock down a transfer or bring in any other big signings.
Will Sir Alex Ferguson get involved in the process? This move would surely emasculate Moyes to a certain point but it might be necessary to bring in those big names that the fans are demanding. United still have a significant amount of central midfielders and there is always the Fellaini factor to consider as well.
It looks like we can expect a very interesting few weeks in the build-up to the next Premier League season.
