Latest Wednesday Champions League Tips PT 1

Another pair of crucial clashes unfolds today in the Champions League knockout stages with several of Europe’s top clubs all taking each other on to ensure progression to the next stage of Europe’s premier club football competition. There is a lot to like about both of these fixtures and you can bank on some very good money to be made on the pair of them.

Yesterday saw Arsenal do everything but get the result against Monaco as Arsene Wenger’s men were able to get it to 3-3 but could not find that crucial final goal in the last ten minutes - crashing out on the away goals rule. Atletico Madrid were forced to go to penalties in order to bypass Bayer Leverkusen - who were not fancied at all in that fixture initially and went on to damn near win it.

Expect heavy volume on the Barcelona vs Manchester City fixture as many will consider Barca to be an absolute lock at home in this one. They are well ahead in the two-legged fixture after putting together a real good performance at City’s Eastlands stadium a couple of weeks ago.

Lionel Messi & Co trade at a very slim 1/16 price tag to progress towards the next stage of the tournament while Manchester City are trading at an 8/1 price to progress and that’s one of the longest odds we’ve seen on the outright qualification market in the second leg of the Knockout Stage.

In regards to the outright 90 minutes victory, you’ll find Manchester City at a 13/2 listing and that’s probably not going to be enough to tempt out the neutral money on this particular race. You’ll find the Catalan club trading at a 2/5 price that will probably feature heavily in accumulator wagers.
