Lecce v Juventus Preview

Juventus are 6 points clear at the top of Serie A and they are looking a solid outfit. A hard fought win in midweek over Fiorentina helped their cause, as the chasing pack dropped more points to them. But they were far from convincing by all accounts. The prices at Stan James for the match are Lecce?.7/2, The Draw?..9/4, Juventus?..8/11 They travel to Lecce on Sunday and this could prove quite a tough match for them. Lecce are currently in fifth place and would be in a more prominent spot had it not been for a mini slump at the moment. Mini slump is maybe being too harsh on them, because they have proved to be a very capable outfit this season. Their losses lately have been away, but at home they have won their last three. In fact they are the top scoring side in Serie A with 24 goals in 11 matches. So they possess the ability to turn Juventus over. They have a teenage goal scoring sensation in Valeri Bojinov and he is hot property at the moment and has taken over the mantle from former striker Chevanton who moved to Monaco in the summer. Lecce are 13/8 to score first and this looks a decent bet. Juventus though should not be overawed by their task. What they have to ensure is that they learn from defensive mistakes they made in their last away game against Reggina. They lost 2-1, although to be fair they were very unlucky not to get something out of the game. At 8/11 it's one of those dilemmas as to whether you can see them as being good value. Like Arsenal here, they are a cut above most sides in Serie A and are capable of blitzing sides. Maybe the best bet is the draw at 9/4. It seems like one of those games where it is the safest option.
