Leeds just 5/2 for relegation

The 15-point deduction handed out to Leeds United by the Football League has seen the club's odds on relegation from Coca-Cola League One slashed from 20/1 to 5/2 with William Hill. The club have appealed against the sanction and their case will be heard at a special meeting of all league clubs. This hearing could however go either way and both William Hill and Ladbrokes have lengthened the side's odds to win League One and go straight back into the Championship. Hills have lengthened their League One title odds from 13/2 to 16/1 and spokesman Graham Sharpe is unsure on which way the betting will go: "They might well get some of these points back on appeal so it is difficult to know how to price them at the moment," said Sharpe. "However, all bets will stand, regardless of whether they are ultimately docked points or not." The club who were relegated from the Premiership in 2004 are now behind Nottingham Forest, Millwall and Doncaster in the betting after being 6/1 joint favourites. Ladbrokes spokesman Robin Hutchison said: "Our odds compilers believe the penalty may be reduced on appeal which is why we've not gone over board. We're also going to keep our powder dry on the relegation and promotion markets until the situation becomes a little clearer." Manager Dennis Wise is now under no illusions of the task in hand. "We need to get 105 points now to win the league," he said. "It's different. We have to get on with it. It's something that has been put in front of us and we have to deal with it."
