LIVERPOOL BETTING TIPS 2009/10 PREMIER LEAGUE
Things were looking pretty bleak for Liverpool at one point this summer when news that teams were actively bidding on Fernando Torres hit the back pages. Since the teams owners sold the Montreal Canadiens and renegotiated their loan deals, Liverpool's short-term financial future was sorted. We'll never know how close they were to administration, but I'm confident that it was a lot closer than they let on. Regardless, Liverpool have just announced the capture of Alberto Aquilani, who has played roughly 20 games in the past 3 years. He's injury-prone and looks to be a bit of a Tomas Rosicky if you want my honest opinion. Xabi Alonso is gone to Madrid and I think they'll have trouble in central midfield. Liverpool finished 2nd last year and really pushed United pretty far. They are 11/4 to win the Premier League, so the bookies clearly think they have a shot at it. They are 13/5 to finish 2nd again, but they are odds-on to finish lower. One of the best bets for Liverpool this season is the top goalscorer market which Fernando Torres has seemingly already wrapped up. He's 5/2 to score more goals than anybody else and if he stays off the treatment table I think he's got a very solid chance. Let's talk trophies. William Hill have listed Liverpool with an odds-on price to finish trophyless again this season. Should they pull off a Premier League and FA Cup double, you're looking at 18/1, Premier League and Carling Cup pays 20/1, while an FA Cup and Carling Cup double (which I consider to be a possibility) pays out at 33/1. I think Liverpool don't have a hope in hell of winning the Premier League or the Champions League, but a cup double isn't out of the question at all. I think at 33/1 that's a great place to put your money.
