LIVERPOOL ODDS: ROY HODGSON FOR THE SACK AT 20/1

After Liverpool got a real scare in the Carling Cup against a League 2 side rated at 750/1 to win the tournament, it is rather natural that punters will be wondering just how much longer Roy Hodgson is going to remain in his post as Liverpool manager.
Currently, it looks to be an extremely long shot that the Liverpool management would terminate Hodgson’s contract at Anfield. You’ll understand why the bookies don’t fancy him to leave right away as sacking Hodgson would likely see the short term situation go from bad to worse.
Martin O’Neill to Liverpool had been bandied about this week and it looks like the Liverpool faithful would be in full support of having a talent like O’Neill at the helm. Hodgson has been criticized for being out of his depth at this level and the theory seems to be that O’Neill left Aston Villa because Randy Lerner was satisfied with finishing 5-8 every year. O’Neill wants more and he could be the one to turn Liverpool back into the club they used to be.
William Hill is offering up a betting market on the 2nd Premier League manager to leave and Roberto Martinez is currently the betting favourite, having usurped Avram Grant as the betting favourite. Martinez’s odds to leave are trading at a slim 2/1 while Grant is available at a 3/1 price tag. Manchester City’s Roberto Mancini could be feeling the pressure too and he’s trading at a 4/1 price.
David Moyes odds to leave Everton are priced at a slim 9/2 and he is a very real contender to go next. Birmingham’s Alex Mcleish trades at 5/1 while Newcastle’s Chris Hughton is listed at 10/1. Roberto Di Matteo is available at a 14/1 price with Ian Holloway, Mick McCarthy, Mark Hughes, Tony Pulis, Gerrard Houllier and Roy Hodgson all priced at 20/1 for the boot.
