Liverpool v Charlton Preview

Liverpool are going to fancy this. They have won all three of their home games in the Premiership this year and Charlton haven't yet won on the road. It's not lost on the compilers either, Stan James bet Liverpool?.1/2, The Draw?..13/5, Charlton?.11/2. On the face of it, it seems a home banker, but you never can tell with Charlton?they have a little habit of nicking results. Charlton are also welcoming back Fox in the Box?.Francis Jeffers and Matt Holland, two key players, and if Curbishley can get his strategy right they could cause Liverpool some problems. But although they showed patches of the old Charlton against Newcastle, their away form has been pretty poor. You can see though that Curbishley is addressing the problem and we think Liverpool might be a little bit complacent because of this. They have a respectable recent record against The Reds as well. An interesting bet is Liverpool not to score at 5/1. Hard to see maybe?but it's a big price. Liverpool though, have to be favourites on paper and if they go into the game with the right attitude?.they will probably have too much ammunition for Charlton to cope with, whatever tactics Curbishley decides to employ. They could go fourth if they win, a position which will take the heat off Benitez. They have been very strong at Anfield this season. The focus will be on ?either you like him or hate him?.Danny Murphy, on his return to Anfield and he's a 7/2 shot to score during the game. (?.he's not even that popular with some of the Charlton fans??bless??). Jeffers with his Everton connection to score at anytime is 2/1??that would go down well??..and man on fire Milan Baros is 4/1 to score first. It could be an interesting game. Charlton always work hard and they will be looking to block out The Reds. If Curbishley gets it right?.they might just shock us.
