LIVERPOOL V TRABZONSPOR AND TOTTENHAM V YOUNG BOYS PLUS LATEST BIG BROTHER EVICTION ODDS
Tottenham will play Young Boys of Switzerland in their Champions League play-off with the second leg being played at White Hart Lane. It is a rather favourable draw for the north London outfit, especially given that all the other club’s in the draw are older boys (sorry, I just had to get that in there).
Young Boys finished second in last season’s Swiss Super League behind champions FC Basel. The early betting markets show Tottenham as the 1/6 favourites, with William Hill, to qualify for the group stages of the Champions League.
In the Europa League play-offs Liverpool have drawn Turkish side Trabzonspor who finished fifth in last season’s Turkish Super Lig, Celtic play FC Utrecht of Holland, Aston Villa face Austrian side Rapid Vienna, Dundee United will play AEK Athens, Motherwell face Odense and Manchester City will play Timisoara who finished fifth in Romania’s top flight last season.
Manchester City are the overall Europa league betting favourites at odds of 15/2 with Coral, hardly surprising given the plethora of world class players that they have added to their squad this summer, Liverpool are second favourites at 10/1 and Aston Villa can be backed at 25/1.
Meanwhile, in the world of reality TV, three housemates face becoming Big Brother 2010’s seventh evictee tonight with Dave, John James and Rachel all facing the public vote. The bookmakers are suggesting that it is between Rachel and John James as to who will be packing their bags with Rachel as the 2/5 favourite with Boylesports.
John James would have been all but safe this time last week, but his incessant moaning and general grumpiness is clearly starting to grind on the public. His ‘love’ affair with fellow housemate Josie, and the fact that he is up against a relatively innocuous housemate in Rachel, may save him from getting the boot this week. However, his chances of being crowned the eventual winner are looking slimmer by the day.
