Liverpool vs Arsenal Betting Analysis

Liverpool have tasted defeat just once on home soil in the Premiership this season, which was when Chelsea came calling in October, and should prove too strong when an out-of-sorts Arsenal side visit Anfield on Tuesday evening. As such, my advice is to get stuck into the 6-5 offered by Stan James in the match betting. The Reds' run of ten consecutive winning Premiership matches was brought to a grinding halt when they visited Stamford Bridge at the beginning of this month, and then, low on confidence, they were beaten at Charlton three days later. However, Rafa Benitez's side bounced back when recording a 1-0 verdict away at Wigan over the weekend, a performance that gave every indication that they had snapped out of that Chelsea-induced hangover. Indeed, Liverpool know what is at stake. Currently, Pool sit in the slipstream of second-placed Man Utd, six points adrift in third but with a game in hand. Snapping at their heels is Tottenham, who are three points behind and have played a game more, while Arsenal are seven points further adrift in fifth place. If Rafa's side beat the Gunners they will put themselves firmly on course for automatic Champions League qualification and twist the knife that is currently sinking further into Arsenal's self esteem with every game. Indeed, if Arsenal do leave Anfield empty handed, they will have to perform an act tantamount to a miracle if they are to achieve a top-four finish, as the likes of West Ham, Wigan and Bolton, all teams that are playing consistently well, are within sneezing distance. Robbie Fowler held a superb record of scoring against Arsenal during his previous stint with Liverpool - he scored hat-tricks against the Gunners in this fixture in 1994 and 1995 - and, at 6/1 with Betfred, looks well worth a saver in the last goalscorer market. He is unlikely to play the full 90 minutes, but one would imagine that Benitez will send him on to spice things up at some point in the second half, and it's equally likely that he'll torment Arsenal's fragile defence.
