LIVERPOOL VS ASTON VILLA LATEST BETTING TIPS

Martin O'Neill's men certainly haven't had the start to the season that I believe they had hoped for previously. It's been a bit touch and go and the Villains have, up to this point at least, failed to inspire or show much of the form that propelled them up the table last season. They go into their away match with Liverpool today as the 8/1 underdogs with the draw available at 16/5. Liverpool are the heavy 2/5 favourites and they have scored at least three goals in each of their six previous Premier League matches at Anfield. You can get some very solid odds on a correct-score selection featuring 3 or more Liverpool goals. If you're looking at a 3-0 hiding, then a 17/2 price is what's available. 3-1 pays out at 9/1, while 3-2 pays an enticing 25/1. The favoured (lowest-priced) options are 1-0 and 2-0 at 9/2. Liverpool/Liverpool pays out at evens while draw/Liverpool is listed at 11/4. Draw/Aston Villa is listed at 12/1 while Aston Villa to win both halves pays out at 11/1. Fernando Torres is favoured to score first at 7/2 with a 10/11 anytime price. Torres is 6/1 to score two goals and 20/1 to score a hat-trick. Steven Gerrard is the second favourite with a 9/2 first/last price and 6/5 anytime, which is good value on a penalty taker like Gerrard. Yossi Benayoun is a quality player and his 8/1 first and last is solid, but the 11/4 anytime price is enough for me. Keep your eye on Glen Johnson and his 7/1 anytime price. He's been in good form since his transfer and at 20/1 to open or close the scoring, he could be a very solid bet. He's netted already this year and set up a few others. John Carew is the go-to-guy for Villa according to the bookmakers with a 10/3 anytime price and 9/1 first or last. Gabriel Agbonlahor sits at 7/2 anytime and 10/1 first or last. Emile Heskey is listed at identical odds. Check out Ashley Young's solid price of 11/2 anytime. Fabian Delph could also start and he is 8/1 to score at any time. Liverpool are 5/6 to win the first half while a half-time draw pays 5/4. The bookies favour a higher-scoring game with over 2 goals listed at 10/11. You can also take Liverpool (-1.0) at 11/10 and Aston Villa (+1.0) at 7/4. Liverpool are 5/6 top score in both halves while Villa are 10/1 to score in both halves. Liverpool are 8/13 to keep a clean sheet while Villa carry an 11/2 price. I think this is a must-win match for Liverpool to keep pressure on at the top. It's also a must-win game for Villa who need to get their season back on track. I think a 2-2 draw would be the right result here, but I can also see 2-1 Liverpool being the outcome. Scorecast Prediction: Fernando Torres/2-2 @ 50/1.
