With playmakers coming down the flanks and up the middle, Chelsea are such a difficult team to play against when they are on the break.

Liverpool are a hefty 13/5 for the home victory and that would be a major coup if they could pull it off. Theoretically, Liverpool should fancy themselves for this one when you look back on the reputations of both clubs, but the simple fact is that Liverpool struggle to put good performances together.
If the Reds could pull off the victory here then you’d have to say that they might get a real bounce in confidence throughout the rest of the season and that could serve them really well in their dogged pursuit of a European place. They just have not been performing up to standard and with Gerrard having lost a yard or two of pace they have not been able to adequately replace him.
One must wonder just how much longer Brendan Rodgers really has in the grand scheme of things because many of his big-money signings have simply failed to materialize as decent players. With rumours swirling that Liverpool are about to make a massive 40 million bid for Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, you have to figure that this might be his last gamble - and you also have to wonder whether the parent company is going to be able to back that with Rodgers having made so many cock-ups in the transfer market in the last year or two.
Watch out for the wager on both teams to score, which pays out at a very enticing 11/2 price tag. The shortest-priced correct score margin is a 1-1 draw which pays out at a very short 5/1 price right now. Chelsea to get the win by a 1-0 margin is the next shortest price with a 6/1 price that looks about right.
You do have to reckon that a few punters will probably put some dosh on Chelsea to win by a considerable margin.
