LIVERPOOL VS DEBRECEN 2009 CHAMPIONS LEAGUE BETTING TIPS

Liverpool are listed as the 1/9 favourites to triumph over the Hungarian Champions Debrecen who carry what might be one of the largest outright prices I've ever seen at 33/1. The unlikely draw is available at 13/2, but it looks to be 100% Liverpool coming into this one. The whole trick is finding the value. Speaking of value, there's none of it in the 1/150 Draw No Bet in Liverpool's favour. The bookmakers favour goals and over 3.5 goals is available at 4/5 while Under 3.5 goals is at 10/11. In terms of the correct score betting, 888sports seems convinced that 2-0 or 3-0 Liverpool is how this one is going to go. Simply adding a Debrecen goal into the total literally doubles the price of any correct score bet. For example, a 2-0 score line in favour of Liverpool is listed at 11/2. A 2-1 margin is 12/1. 3-0 Liverpool is a mere 6/1 and 3-1 is 14/1. All it takes is a penalty or even an own goal. Even 4-0 to Liverpool is still a slim 8/1. You have to get to 5-0 before you start getting some generous odds, 14/1 in this case. I personally think you're going to get more value on the half-time scores and I've earmarked 3-0 Liverpool as a solid bet at 7/1. If Debrecen are going to score it will be in the 2nd half when Liverpool have switched off and gotten a bit sloppy. Liverpool are 4/7 to score in both halves and 8/11 to win both halves. If you're into short odds bets, you likely won't get better ones this year. Liverpool are 11/1 to score first and fail to win, which is pretty short odds in my opinion. Liverpool are 10/1 to win having been behind, again, I don't see much value there. Tellingly, they are 1/2 to keep a clean sheet and 4/7 to win to nil. Fernando Torres is 4/7 to score anytime and 11/4 first or last. Steven Gerrard is 4/5 anytime while Dirk Kuyt and Andriy Voronin are at 6/5. Yossi Benayoun is at 5/4 while David Ngog and Ryan Babel are at 11/8 and 13/8, respectively. Gergely Rudolf is the favoured goalscorer for Debrecen at 5/1. Adamo Coulibaly and Lorant Olah are both 11/2. Torres is 9/4 to score two goals while Gerrard is 3/1. Torres is a very slim 11/1 to score a hat trick. Yossi Benayoun is 25/1 to repeat his weekend heroics. I think you really have to either back Liverpool to completely cock this one up or back them to win it by a big margin. I find the Torres margin on a hat-trick too slim, but could Benayoung notch back to back hat-tricks? 25/1 sounds about right to me.
