LIVERPOOL VS. FC UTRECHT-EUROPA LEAGUE STARTING LINEUP

Liverpool travel to Dutch club Utrecht tonight, in a game the Reds simply have to win to salvage something from this season.
Having been knocked out of the Carling Cup by minnows Northampton Town, followed by a shocking display in the Premiership that has left them with a lot to do, tonight presents a perfect opportunity for Roy Hodgson to once again put this team on track
On the Liverpool news end- captain Steven Gerrard did not travel with the team for this match up in order to be rested, while defender Daniel Agger, who is thought to have a groin strain, has also been left out.
In a shock to most supporters this afternoon, Roy Hodgson had announced that last season's star striker Fernando Torres might not start this evening, however he seems to have come to his senses and realised that this striker, once getting going, is too good to bench.
In an interview this afternoon, Hodgson revealed that while he wouldn't pick an under strength side, that he might not be prepared to risk his star striker from kick off, however with the team announcement moments ago, that does not seem to be the case.

The Reds should be able to take this game quite comfortably tonight, with Paddypower offering odds of 2.1 to Liverpool, against the 3.5 locked in for FC Utrecht
Despite FC Utrecht's poor defence this season, Liverpool’s lack of attacking ability has also played a role in the bookies calling this one as a low-scoring affair.
An interesting statistic to note is that although Utrecht are 12th in the Eredivisie table, they do harbour a100% home record in the league this season, and beat Celtic 4-0 in the Europa League qualifier at Nieuw Galgewaard.

One would imagine that, and again this has been said numerous times in the past with nothing resulting, Liverpool are too good a side to be complacent this evening...and should net at least 2 goals here
