LIVERPOOL VS NORTHAMPTON TOWN- STARTING LINEUPS AND ODDS

League Two outfit Northampton Town travel to Anfield tonight in what should be a resounding win for the Reds.
With the majority of Liverpool fans considering their team being  handed a 'bye' to the next round- many would do well to rewind only a day ago, and scan over the Everton vs. Brentford match summary.
However, sanity prevails in this one with William Hill putting the Reds at 1/14 favourites to Northampton’s 13/2
Roy Hodgson has made some wholesale changes to the side that went down to United over the weekend
Liverpool are still without Fabio Aurelio, who is sidelined with an Achilles injury, while Dirk Kuyt is out for another month with a shoulder problem.
For Northampton- midfielder Ryan Gilligan is fighting fitness to be ready for tonight, with
Marcus Hall is set to miss out on the back of a hamstring injury.
Liverpool Starting Line-up:
Jones, Kelly, Wilson, Kyrgiakos, Agger, Lucas, Spearing, Jovanovic, Babel, Pacheco, Ngog
With Torres out, Ngog takes over the reins as expected opening scorer at 2/1, with a sure bet being for him to score at anytime at 2/5
Ryan Babel is a good outside bet at 5/4, with Pacheco at 4/1 to open proceedings
For Northampton, Billy McKay is favoured to score at 7/2, along with former Charlton Athletic striker Leon McKenzie.
Let’s not kid ourselves...this game will be all Liverpool.
A 1-0 win is set at 8/1, with a 3-0 romping at a more conservative 6/1.
The most enticing bets in this lot must surely be the Liverpool to win both halves offer at 1/2- a highly likely scenario in one of the most one-sided fixtures of the tournament so far.
While the Carling Cup does not represent a main priority for Liverpool this season, it does arrive at a time whereby the Liverpool boardroom will be eyeing Hodgson's progression with the side closely.
For that reason alone, Hodgson simply cannot afford to pick a completely inexperienced side.
Hodgson will trust his makeshift XI to take matters seriously this evening, and in doing so this Liverpool makeup will brush aside the opposition with ease.
