LIVERPOOL VS TOTTENHAM PREMIER LEAGUE BETTING TIPS

This is an absolutely crunch clash and I expect that we’ll see another barrage of traffic for “Rafa Benitez Sack Race Odds” again should Liverpool fail to get the victory here in front of the Kop. Rafa Benitez has been getting something akin to the dreaded vote of confidence from the management at his club and it is now rumoured that Liverpool have made contact with Guus Hiddink’s agent about possibly taking over. I bet that sounds like a hell of a deal for Liverpool fans at the moment.
Blue Square have little idea who’s going to win this match and therefore there’s great prices all around. ‘Pool are the favourites with their 11/8 price against Spurs 2/1 listing. The draw is 23/10 and that’s a very real possibility, but I expect Spurs to try to push hard for this one and get a result. Liverpool’s form has just been so patchy and they don’t look the same without Fernando Torres- Fact!
A real solid betting opportunity here is in the half-time/full-time market on one team to be leading at half-time and the other one to lose. I think this one will be fairly open and I can see Liverpool having a great first 45 and then throwing it all away after a tactical shift from Harry Redknapp. At half-time. I could also see Spurs cutting Liverpool to pieces early on and then the Reds sneak two goals and that’s that. It doesn’t happen too often and it takes a special type of match, fortunately I think this is one of them. You’ll find the price listed at 25/1 for Tottenham/Liverpool and Liverpool/Tottenham. Back them both if you can’t make up your mind, it’s still a solid price.
David Ngog is listed alongside Dirk Kuyt as the favoured players to score in the match at 7/4 anytime. Ryan Babel is shortly-priced at 12/5 while new signing Maxi Rodriguez trades at 3/1. Alberto Aquilani is 5/1 to score today while Lucas is listed at 8/1.
Spurs have so many more well-qualified striking options and their midfield looks significantly more dangerous. Jermain Defoe is at 13/8, Peter Crouch trades at 12/5, Robbie Keane at 11/4 and Roman Pavlyuchenko at 3/1. Luka Modric is always a threat and he’s at 10/3 while Aaron Lennon is well-priced at 5/1. He’ll be exploiting space on the flanks all evening and could be a real goal threat. Niko Kranjcar is also in great form and trades at 7/2. Why not have a bash on Wilson Palacios if he’s in the starting line-up? He’s at 10/1 anytime.
I think Liverpool are overlaid here and, player for player, I think Spurs are the better side. It doesn’t mean Liverpool can’t win- but they need their squad players to step up here. They’ve got no Steven Gerrard, no Torres and no Yossi Benayoun- who has been called upon to step up when the previous two weren’t cutting it. Liverpool need one of their best performances of the season or things could really start going from bad to worse. Spurs are looking to put distance between them and City and this is a crucial opportunity to do so.
