LYON VS REAL MADRID CHAMPIONS LEAGUE BETTING TIPS
Paddy Power is unveiling some really solid odds for today’s big Champions League clash between Real Madrid and Lyon. While many will be tuned in for the Manchester United vs Milan match, I have a feeling that some stellar football is going to be on display in this fixture and we should see a fairly exciting match.
You’ll find Real Madrid trading at 11/10 while Lyon are listed at a 5/2 price for the victory. The draw is available at 23/10 and that could be the target for a lot of Lyon supporters. I actually don’t think they’d mind a 0-0 draw at all, giving them the powerful away goal rule to take advantage of at the Bernabeu.
You can back Lyon on a draw no bet at 7/4.
If you think that Cristiano Ronaldo & Co. will be able to run up a big tally in this fixture, why not back them on the (-1.0) handicap at 11/4. You can also back Real to dominate both halves in the half-time/full-time market and you’ll find Madrid/Madrid at 23/10. Draw/Madrid pays 4/1 while Lyon/Madrid is a whopping 22/1. Draw/Lyon pays 7/1 while Lyon/Lyon rewards at 11/2. Real Madrid/Lyon (which would be an epic match) is a colossal 40/1.
In terms of the correct score betting, the shortest-priced selection is a 1-1 draw at 5/1. Madrid to win 1-0 pays out at 6/1 while a 2-1 victory to them is a mere 7/1. Lyon to win by the same margin is a 10/1 price. A 2-2 draw pays out at 11/1 while 0-0 can be backed at 17/2.
Lyon are expected to turn to Lisandro Lopez and Bafetimi Gomis to get the job done in front of goal and you’ll find them at 12/5 and 11/4 to score anytime. Kim Kallstrom is always interesting and he’s listed at 9/2. Matthew Bodmer trades at 11/2 to score anytime.
Cristiano Ronaldo is the considered the favourite to score for Madrid at 11/10 anytime and 4/1 to score first. Gonzalo Higuain trades at 6/4 anytime while Karim Benzema and Raul can be backed to score anytime at a 15/8 price. Xabi Alonso is well-priced at 7/1 anytime while Kaka is always an option at 11/4.
I think that Lyon have a to win chance here, but it’s too dependent on Madrid playing badly. I think that a draw is certainly within the realm of possibility, and Cristiano Ronaldo to score anytime is a solid bet, as always.
