Man United vs Copenhagen Betting Tips
Man Utd look poised for a cakewalk of a match when Copenhagen come calling to Old Trafford in this Group F Champions League fixture on Tuesday evening. It's always dangerous to underestimate the underdog but, despite being the best side in Denmark at present, it's not unfair to say that they are the best of a comparatively bad bunch of teams. Although they can take their feet to far off the gas at times - their 1-0 win over Benfica in their latest Champions League match was a case in point - the Red Devils are fantastic when in the mood. They went into half time a goal down against Wigan in the Premiership over the weekend, but they were sublime after the interval and duly blew their rivals away to win 3-1. Sir Alex Ferguson's charges, who are a top-priced 12/1 to be the outright winners of this tournament, also proved that they can punch pound for pound when a team endeavours to go toe to toe with them by outpointing Celtic 3-2 in the opening match of this group on September 13. Louis Saha, who scored two of the three goals in that fixture and the winner against Benfica, is 9/1 second favourite behind Didier Drogba to beat the competition's top scorer. Copenhagen have done little wrong thus far in this tournament. They held Benfica to a goalless draw at home and then lost little caste in defeat when beaten by a solitary goal against Celtic at Parkhead. However, the Danes simply do not possess the strength to match United in any area of the park and, with the crowd behind them at the Theatre of Dreams, one suspects that we could be treated to a vintage display from the home side. Unearthing value in a match like this isn't always easy. But Wayne Rooney demonstrated in the match against Wigan that he is back in the mix - surely no-one can now question his current wellbeing. He was irresistible. As such, with confidence bound to be high after the pyrotechnics he displayed in that game, I envisage this being the stage on which he explodes back into goalscoring form and, at 11/4 with Paddy Power, my advice it to side with the enfant terrible to score two +. Admittedly, the fact that the 20-year-old has not etched his name onto the scoresheet in the Champions League since rifling home a hat-trick on his debut in this competition last season is a shade concerning. But the 'boy wonder' will not be fazed by such statistics - he will approach this game with one objective and one objective only: to score goals. Frankly, I don't see who can stop him. Verdict: Wayne Rooney in the player to score 2+ market @ 11/4 (Paddy Power)
