Manchester City Odds On For Premier League Title PT 1
- By A.J. Ryder on January 6, 2014 21:49 GMTWith the English Premier League on hiatus for the next week and the January transfer window now in full swing, it’s going to be an especially interesting time to get your wagers in on the outright winner of the league this year. Punters will remember that City were odds on to take the title back before the season started and, even though they aren’t topping the table right now they remain the significant odds-on favourites to get back their coveted League title.

As it currently stands right now, you’ll find Manchester City at a 1.9 price tag to lock down the league title and that looks about right when you consider the quality of players they have at their disposal and the overall desire to win that the team has illustrated.
While there have certainly been a lot more challengers for the title this year (which also owes a lot to United’s complete cock-up of the league courtesy of David Moyes, you do have to admit this is one of the most wide open title races in a very long time.
City are just a point behind Arsenal right now and that’s likely going to change if the Gunners go through their perennial “fall apart during the home stretch” routine again this year. Arsenal remain top of the table but with Theo Walcott out for the rest of the season, they will either need to reinforce during the transfer window or continue pulling out all the stops and having other players step up to help them solidify results and really get the job done.
Chelsea remain the second favourites for the title with Jose Mourinho’s side rewarding at a tasty 3.5 margin to win the league this year. That would be a major coup for the Portuguese manager but it must be admitted that Chelsea have not really looked like the Chelsea of old with some misfiring results and numerous points dropped at home to sides that looked more than beatable.
