Manchester City v Chelsea Preview
Chelsea are currently unbeaten in the Premiership this season, so we can begin our summary by focusing on whether they have any chinks in their armour, that City could exploit. The Stan James betting has Man City at 100/30?..the Draw is 12/5, and Chelsea are 8/11.You can't argue with the prices because Chelsea have lost only once in 15 matches away at Man City, and they also have a perfect defensive record on the road, with no goals conceded in their four away games this term. On the open expanse of Eastlands they will be confident of getting a result. If there are any downsides it could be the fact that the vast majority of Chelsea's squad have been away on International duty, and this could throw them a little. They have no major injury worries though. So are there any chinks in this Chelsea team? Difficult to say that there is. Defensively they are as tight as a Cumbrian's wallet, and they are unlikely to let much past them. Shaun Wright Phillips could pose them problems but it's difficult to see anyone else being a threat. Robbie Fowler is due to return but I've lost patience with him as a leading striker. They have failed to score in half their matches this season, and it's difficult to see where goals will come from. But King Kev has tightened the Mancunians up at the back recently so this game could be a low scoring affair. Chelsea also have a habit of winning 1-0 as well. This is a 6/1 shot. Under 2 goals is a 9/4 chance. But you never quite know what you are going to get from Man City. If the game opens up it could be very exciting, but the call is for the game to be tight. The Silver Fox?.Keegan?should have a game plan, and will hope his stars turn on a bit of magic somewhere to swing it. Wright-Phillips is a real star in the making, and he will love this stage. Anytime for him to score is 7/2?..and a tasty 12/1 for first or last goalscorer. He has that little bit of magic and could be City's only hope.
