MANCHESTER CITY VS ARSENAL CARLING CUP BETTING TIPS

This is going to be a real belter, I can definitely tell. Mark Hughes is starting to see City’s season start to get a bit more muddled, no matter how much he insists that things are more or less going according to plan. I think he knows that a Carling Cup trophy would likely stave off an exit in the summer. The bookies seem to think that he’s going to pull it off today as 888 sports has listed Manchester City at an odds-on price of 10/11 against Arsenal, who are expected to field a youthful side (whoa, didn’t see that coming).
If you want to back City to get their 10,000th draw of the season, they are listed at an enticing 12/5, but check that price on Arsenal- 3/1! That’s massive, especially for a side like City that epitomize inconsistency as of late. Can they get it all back on track here against the Arse? I just don’t have the confidence and I love that price on Arsenal’s kids. 3/1 is a nice listing, but I’m also interested in their price in a Draw No Bet at 7/4. I fancy a few goals here and the bookies seem to agree. 4 or more goals pays a mere 2/1 while 2 or 3 garners a 20/21 price tag.
Draw/Arsenal in the half-time/full-time market is a very solid 15/2 and that’s an entirely plausible result, but it would favour a lower score line. Personally, I think that Manchester City/Arsenal would be an apt selection (considering how things have been going for the Citizens) and you’re looking at a whopping 28/1 for that result. Definitely worth a punt, that.
If that last selection comes through, it will likely be off of a 2-1 score line in favour of Arsenal. You’re looking at 14/1 for that result, but the bookies seem to favour a 1-0 result to City which garners a 11/2 price. They are also 15/2 to win 2-1. A 1-1 draw sits at 6/1 while a 3-2 result for Arsenal can be backed at a 40/1 listing.
Emmanuel Adebayor will really be looking to notch one against his old side and he’s a slim 5/4 to score at anytime. Roque Santa Cruz sits at 6/4 while Craig Bellamy can be backed at 13/8 alongside Robinho. You’ll find Carlos Tevez at 7/4.
Arsenal look set to deploy a few players I’ve never heard of and though Eduardo and Carlos Vela are at 2/1 and 9/4, respectively, you can also back Sanchez Watt (wat?) and Gilles Sunu at 11/4 alongside Theo Walcott. Andrey Arshavin can be backed at 12/5 while Jack Wilshere is well-priced alongside Samir Nasri at 7/2. Aaron Ramsey is at 4/1 and Thomas Vermaelen is 6/1 to get in there with another goal, likely from a set-piece.
City are definitely the favourites, but on their form, I can’t back them at that slim price. I’m advocating City/Arsenal at 28/1, a 2-1 result for the Gunners and goals from Arshavin and Wilshere should they both start.
