Manchester City vs Manchester United Betting Preview PT 1
- By A.J. The way the season is shaping up right now, it looks like Liverpool are absolutely running away with it and City have, notably, dropped more points this season at this stage than they have in a number of years.
If United were still playing like they did in the Ferguson era, you would have to think they would be looking at the current situation with plenty of confidence and looking for an opportunity to secure another trophy.
This time around, you’ll find the Red Devils having been languishing in mid-table for much of the season and they only just got themselves a major confidence boost by disposing of Spurs and former manager Jose Mourinho, who has recently taken over for Pochettino.
That was a much-needed victory for their manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer and you’ll find United looming as a distinct underdog here. A big loss against Jose Mourinho - who the Norwegian player was the original replacement for - would have ratched up the pressure significantly.
Not many think that a loss against City will result in Ole losing his job, but it will definitely compound the negative pressure that has been building up on him over the past few months. Paul Pogba isn’t available for this contest once again and United have looked a bit lost without him - though the inconsistency of his performances can be very distinct.
