MANCHESTER CITY VS. NEWCASTLE- PREVIEW AND BETTING TIPS

Manchester City will be looking to capitalise on their superb 1-0 win over Chelsea last week, when they play host Newcastle at the City of Manchester Stadium this afternoon
City  will be coming off somewhat of a down, having only drawn to Juventus in the Europa League midweek, however last week's win at Stamford Bridge will see them in high spirits taking on Premiership 'new boys' Newcastle United.
City will be without Pablo Zabaleta after the defender pulled a hamstring midweek against Juventus.
He joins a lengthening injury list including Balotelli and Wright-Phillips- both suffering knee injuries, Wayne Bridge who is still out with a thigh issue, as well as Richards & Zabaleta (both hamstring)
Mancini may also choose to rest Jerome Boateng, as he seeks to slowly acclimatise back into top flight football on the back of a knee injury.
Newcastle on the other hand are expected to stick with their habit of continuity by naming an unchanged XI from the one that lost to Stoke last week.
City head into today's clash as heavy favourites.
They have dominated Newcastle in the last ten meetings, taking five wins while the Magpies achieved two home victories. The remaining three matches ended in draws.
Bet365 have placed Manchester City at pretty good odds of 1.44, to Newcastle at a rather long 8.5
On the goal prediction front, neither of these two clubs are expected rack up a cricket score here today.
City’s strike rate is currently beneath 2 goals a game, with 7 goals scored in the last five matches, while Newcastle has scored a total of 7 goals in its last five fixtures.
No surprises then that the odds are in favour of a low scoring game. A 1-0 win to City will see you at 6.5, and a 2-0 win at only slightly better 7.0. A bet on Manchester City to win both halves is an absolute shoo-in at 2.15
On the Magpies side- a 1-0 win is seen at a rather long 19.0, with a 2-1 win at 23.0
For the scorer predictions, you can bet your house that Tevez will net one today, and with William Hill setting him at 1.61- this would be a wise bet
A recent returner to action Emmanuel Adebayor will also be looking to get in on the action, and is definitely worth a punt at 2.0 even
Manchester City is unlikely to relinquish its proud record at home against Newcastle this afternoon, despite the Magpies tendency to cause an upset.
City are too good (and too expensive) an outfit to let a game like this slip, and should walk out comfortable victors this afternoon.
Betting Tip: Manchester City to win both halves at 2.15- double your money
