MANCHESTER UNITED BETTING TIPS 2009/10 PREMIER LEAGUE
Manchester United are certainly entering a new era as Sir Alex Ferguson begins putting the finishing touches on the team that will define themselves, like it or not, as the post-Ronaldo team. Everybody seems to be in agreement that this is Wayne Rooney's time to shine, as the boy wonder finally gets the freedom and positional priority that he's strived for all along. A loyal club servant who has been played out of position frequently to accommodate to flashier talents in the side is now going to be given free reign. And with a World Cup on the horizon, this could be just what England need. United have been made co-favourites to win the 2009/10 English Premier League at around 2/1 odds by top UK bookmakers William Hill. Should United not win the Premier League, you're looking at a 4/11 payout. There are some interesting permutations in the straight forecast market and Manchester United/Chelsea pays out at 9/2- which is decent value. Manchester United/Liverpool sits at 13/2 while Manchester United/Arsenal is listed at 14/1. If you really feel saucy, try Manchester United/Manchester City at 28/1. Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney are serious contenders to score more goals than anybody else in this year's Premiership with Owen sitting at 11/1 and Rooney just behind at 12/1. Dimitar Berbatov is available at 20/1 while Federico Macheda sits at 66/1. United are also the slight favourites to score more goals than any other team with a 2/1 price tag. Liverpool sits at 5/2 with Chelsea at 3/1. In terms of trophies, a barren season will pay 11/10 while a Premiership and FA Cup double pays 9/1- this is an extremely plausible outcome and Premiership/League Cup sits at an enticing 12/1. A Premiership and Champions League double pays out at 11/1. United winning both major cup competitions garners a 20/1 price. United are 200/1 to win the lot. I think this year will see a different style of play by United, but still based on the core dynamics of their game. They generally don't start very well, but if they can string a few good ones together early on this season then I think that will bode well. Injuries will be an intriguing part of the season and I think we're all expecting Rooney to break his metatarsal in April.
