MANCHESTER UNITED VS BAYERN MUNICH CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GOALSCORER ODDS
A fair amount of action is going to be placed on William Hill’s goalscorer market for the 2010 Champions League clash between Manchester United and Bayern Munich. There’s plenty of cash to be made if you can get it right.
Odds are available on Wayne Rooney to score (he’s odds-on at 5/6 anytime) but he isn’t likely to play today unless Fergie wants to pull off a real tactical surprise and scare the daylights out of every single England supporter. Apparently, Wayne Rooney played in a secret 11-a-side friendly match yesterday and is reportedly at around 80%. This is a massive fixture for United and you can never rule out a wily move from Sir Alex.
Dimitar Berbatov trades at 10/11 to score anytime and 7/2 to score first or last. The Bulgarian is 6/1 to score 2 or more and 20/1 to hit a hat-trick. Federico Macheda is likely going to get the start today and he’s listed at 6/4 anytime and 11/2 first or last. Macheda scoring the match-winner late on wouldn’t be a huge surprise so that last goalscorer bet looks a tidy one. The bet gets even better if he doesn’t start and comes on for the last 30 minutes.
Park Ji-Sung is usually deployed in matches like this thanks to his tireless running and ability to wear teams down easily. He’s also a bit handy in front of goal from time to time and he is generally priced quite well. You’ll find him at 10/3 anytime, which is a bit shorter than I’d like, but his 9/1 first or last price is quite solid.
Darren Fletcher has a habit of scoring on the big stages and you’ll find him at 5/1 anytime and 12/1 first or last. Nani is listed at 8/1 first or last and 11/4 anytime. Luis Antonio Valencia is at 7/4 anytime and 6/1, and he may be able to exploit some space on the wings if Bayern do indeed push forward.
Bayern Munich have a fairly razor-sharp line-up of goalscorers supported by two of the best wingers on the planet. Mario Gomez is their favoured goalscorer with a 2/1 price ahead of Ivica Olic and Miroslav Klose who can both be backed at 9/4. Gomez is 7/1 first or last and the other two both trade at 15/2 first or last.
Franck Ribery is listed at 10/3 to score anytime and 9/1 first or last with Arjen Robben available at an identical price.
Keep in mind that there will be live betting on goalscorers available. Additionally, William Hill is offering up another Free Bets for Everyone Promotion on this fixture. Stake £20 on the outright result and you’ll get a free £10 first goalscorer bet!
