MANCHESTER UNITED VS CHELSEA 2009 COMMUNITY SHIELD BETTING TIPS
We are finally poised on the precipice of the 2009/10 English Premier League season and we all know that means a quick kick at the can for the Community Shield between the Premier League winner and the FA Cup winner at Wembley. At this point in time, the bookies don't see a huge amount between the two sides with Blue Square listing both teams at 7/4 for the win and the 90 minute draw at 21/10. In terms of the outright winner (including penalties) betting, both teams are at 10/11. They also fancy 2-3 goals for this one with a 20/21 price tag. 0 or 1 goals pays out at 13/8 while 4 or more goals is listed at 10/3. Good odds if you think this one will be one for the strikers and not one for the goalkeepers. United are 10/1 to win it in extra time and 8/1 to win it on penalties. Chelsea also carry identical odds on that one. The favoured scoreline is a 1-1 draw at 11/2. Both teams are listed at the exact same prices for the correct-score markets. 1-0 pays out at 7/1, 2-0 is listed at 14/1. 2-1 is a very plausible scoreline and you're looking at 10/1 there. 3-0 is 28/1, 3-1 is 25/1 while a 2-2 draw is 16/1. A 3-2 margin is 33/1. For a team to win both halves, you're looking at a 4/1 price, while draw/Manchester or draw/Chelsea is 5/1. Chelsea/draw or Manchester United/draw is 14/1. Both teams are 12/5 to win the first half. A draw is listed at evens. Both teams are 11/10 to score first. Interestingly enough, the only place I see any price differences is in the Team Specials market. The only real differences are in the penalty markets. United are 11/2 to score a penalty and 16/1 to miss a penalty. Chelsea are 8/1 to score a penalty and 22/1 to miss one. Clearly, the bookmakers think that Chelsea are more likely to concede a penalty than Manchester United are. In a tight game with both teams looking to not give an inch, the penalty could be the difference. I like Manchester United 1-0 from a penalty scored by Michael Owen.
