MANCHESTER UNITED VS CHELSEA LATEST TIPS AND SPECIAL BETS
There is plenty of action in store today as we get a potentially season-defining clash between Wayne Rooney-less Manchester United and their chief rivals for the Premiership crown- Chelsea. Carlo Ancelotti's side travel to Old Trafford knowing they need a win to get themselves firmly into the driver's seat for the Premier League title. Manchester United remain the slim favourites to win the match though, with popular Irish bookmaker Paddy Power listing them at 6/4 for the outright win while Chelsea trade at 9/5 and the draw can be backed at 11/5.
Speaking of Paddy Power, they have one of the better promos for this massive clash and they'll be refunding all losing all 1st/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match if Manchester United lead at any point and fail to win. Basically, you're betting on United to get the first goal and then you know you'll at least get your money back. That's an interesting option and certainly makes some of those markets even more appealing.
The favoured correct score margin is a 1-1 draw, which trades at 9/2 while a 1-0 result to United is paying out at 13/2. Chelsea to win 1-0 pays 7/1- just a shade behind United. The Red Devils to win 2-1 pays out at 8/1 while Chelsea are paying 17/2. A 3-2 victory pays 25/1 for United and 30/1 for Chelsea. A 2-2 draw pays 11/1.
The over/under on time of first goal is considered to be the 28th minute- with both directions paying out at even money. 2 goals in the fixture are favoured with the over 1.5 paying 1/3 but the over 2.5 paying out at 11/10. Over 4.5 goals pays a very solid 13/2.
United are 9/1 to win both halves and 21/10 to keep a clean sheet. Chelsea are 10/1 to win both halves and 9/4 to keep a clean sheet. Both teams are trading at 7/2 to win to nil, while United are 11/1 to come from behind and win and Chelsea trade at 12/1 to come from behind and win. Both sides are 11/2 to come from behind and draw.
Paul Scholes, Rafael and Michael Ballack are all listed at 18/1 to be sent off and Didier Drogba is just behind at 20/1. Ballack, Scholes and Rafael are all odds-on to be booked with the first two at 8/11 and the Brazilian listed at 10/11. A red card in the match is listed at a slim 2/1.
I think that the Wayne Rooney factor makes the match a bit of wildcard. I have a feeling that Dimitar Berbatov knows this is the best stage to answer his critics and I also have a suspicion that Sir Alex Ferguson has something up his sleeve. United to win 2-1 with a late goal.
