MANCHESTER UNITED VS EVERTON BETTING TIPS
Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United side take on David Moyes’ Everton in a very interesting match at Old Trafford. I think this one if going to be tighter and a bit more of a chess match than the Liverpool vs Man City fixture. United definitely have some injury concerns as Dimitar Berbatov, Michael Carrick, Jonny Evans and John O’Shea are all listed as doubtful. Throw that on top of Ferdinand, Hargreaves, Welbeck and Fabio all out as well and you know you’re going to see one of those gritty Darren Fletcher-based Manchester United sides.
Blue Square is listing Manchester United at a slim 2/5 price and I think this has a lot to do with both Everton’s current shaky form and their relatively poor record against United in past fixtures. You’ll find the Toffees at 15/2 while the draw garners a 10/3 price tag.
If you think United are really going to do the business here, back them (-1.0) at 5/4. You can also back them to win both halves at evens, but I’m actually tempted to bet on Draw/Man United at 16/5. United haven’t exactly been scoring with ease, and I’m not sure just how well they’re going to do in the opening 45.
In terms of correct score betting, the favoured outcomes are United 1-0 and 2-0 at 11/2 and United 2-1 at 15/2. Even a 1-1 draw is listed at a lengthy 9/1. United 3-0 pays out at 8/1. Everton 1-0 pays out at 16/1 while Everton 2-0 is a massive 50/1.
Wayne Rooney is listed at evens to score anytime while, should Berbatov play, he is carrying an 11/10 price. Michael Owen is 11/8 while Federico Macheda is listed at 13/8. I’ve got my eye on Gabriel Obertan, who I think is currying favour with Fergie, and he’s listed at 11/4. He came so close several times in his last encounter, if he gets a start I fancy him to score. Keep in mind that Obertan is 9/1 to score first.
Louis Saha is the favourite to score for Everton at 11/4 while Yakubu is at 3/1. Jo carries a 10/3 price while Tim Cahill is listed at 7/2. Marouane Fellaini is 6/1.
For my scorecast selection, I’ll be backing Obertan/Man United 2-0 at 45/1.
