MANCHESTER UNITED VS HULL CITY BETTING TIPS
After another Chelsea slip-up, this time at the hands of high-flying Birmingham, United have a shot at narrowing the gap at the top of the table to a mere 2 points. Sir Alex Ferguson's men aren't exactly lighting the world on fire either having lost to Hull City last week by a massive 3 goal margin. The defensive crisis continues to loom, but I have a bit of a feeling that Fergie's men will be viewing this fixture with Hull as an opportunity to get things back on track and chalk up another 3 points to their season's total. United are short-priced, hardly an unexpected occurance, and you'll find them around 2/5 for the outright victory with Blue Square. Hull City pay a massive 8/1 for a victory here while the draw carries a 16/5 price tag. If you're looking to bet against United, Hull can be backed on the draw no bet at 5/1. I fancy a few goals in this one, and apparently the bookies do as well. You'll find over 2.5 goals at odds-on with an 8/11 listing. If you think this is a four goals or more type of match-up then you're looking at around 15/8. With United's price being a bit short, Red Devils fans may want to back them on the handicap. United are generously-priced at 23/20 to win (-1.0). In terms of the correct score betting, the favoured outcomes are 1-0 and 2-0 with both options priced out at 11/2. Personally, I like the 3-1 or 3-0 scorelines at 11/1 and 9/1, respectively. Should United run riot, a 5-0 margin is a solid 66/1. This is Hull City, a Jimmy Bullard-less Hull City, I should remind you. The half-time/full-time market is appealing as well if you support United, or at least fancy a bet on them, they are 11/10 to lead after half-time and the end of the game. United are 5/6 to be ahead at half-time. They are 1/3 to score first and I think that's a bit of an indice here. United are also 7/5 to win to nil and 10/11 to keep a clean sheet. There's a bit of a discrepency there, but I don't think this is going to go 0-0, so back the win to nil option. Hull City's Geovanni trades at 3/1 to score anytime while he is a whopping 66/1 to score in both halves. He is 4/1 to be booked and 12/1 to hit the woodwork. With United's makeshift defence not inspiring a huge amount of confidence that may be worth a bash. Wayne Rooney is odds-on to score at 10/11 and 25/1 to hit a hat-trick. He is 11/4 to score first for United and a solid 6/1 to score from outside the box. He is 8/1 to hit the woodwork and 9/4 to be booked. The man with the longest name in football, Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink is 10/1 to score first and 3/1 anytime. Team USA's Jozy Altidore is 12/1 to score first and 7/2 anytime. Seyi Olofinjana is at 8/1 to score anytime.Michael Owen is at 11/10 to score anytime for United and Ryan Giggs trades at 11/4. Darren Fletcher is 6/1 anytime and if he's fit, you know he's on the team-sheet. Park Ji-Sung is 10/3 to score anytime. This match is United's to win and, while Hull can certainly offer up a challenge on their day, I have confidence in Fergie's management and I think a thorough victory is in the cards today.
