Manchester United vs LA Galaxy Preview Pt 1
- By A.J. In a slightly controversial match, even Van Gaal has declared this purely a commercial exercise, it appears as though the bookmakers expect United to romp even though they are just sorting themselves out and the Galaxy are effectively right smack in the middle of their season. Look for them to genuinely have a go at United and look to put on a show in front of their home fans.

It will be interesting to get a look at the new signings of Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera but you have to wonder what the absence of Chicharito means. He would have had a substantial cheering section in the crowd for this match but since Hernandez isn’t even on the tour, it’s going to be even more interesting and dramatic to see what actually happens over the rest of the summer.
United are apparently still on the hunt for several other marquee signings, not the least of them midfield anchorman Arturo Vidal, and United would do well to add him into the midfield alongside Hererra in a substantial improvement over the likes of Carrick, Fletcher and Fellaini.
In regards to the outright result, punters will find United trading at 8/15 while LA Galaxy are a lengthy 9/2 to get the result. The draw is available at 3/1 and you will probably want to wait to see the starting line-up as United might start with a few lower-profile players just to give them a run out.
It would very much be within Van Gaal’s attitude to not exactly take this match super seriously as you reckon he is using them more as a way to gauge which players might stay and which ones will go as opposed to helping players just coming out of a World Cup get back to match fitness.
