If you’re in the mood to hedge that bet you can back Draw/Man Utd at 7/2 in hopes that they start a little bit slow but ultimately get the job done.

It looks pretty clear that the bookmakers expect some goals in this one as the over/under on goals is set at 2.5 and the over is paying out at a mere 1/2. The under is a 6/4 listing and it’s not too bad all things considered. This one might be a bit more dour than many would expect and it’s quite often in pre-season matches that punters get a bit gung-ho in backing an especially open game and then it turns out to be a very slow and methodical sort of thing.
For those who do fancy a bit of goalscoring thunder, take a look at the anytime goalscorer prices where you’ll find Wayne Rooney looming as the only odds-on player to score in the entire match. He is available at 10/11 anytime but you might want to back him to score first at 15/4 if you see him listed to start the match (which he likely will be). Juan Mata is also an interesting option at 6/4 anytime and you reckon he has every chance to flourish in Van Gaal’s system if he is played properly. Shinji Kagawa certainly have something to prove as well and he is well-priced at 2/1 anytime but wait until you see him starting the match to actually get everything done.
Landon Donovan is the real wildcard and he will also want to make a statement here after being left out of the USA’s World Cup squad. A nice goal against United would definitely be his way of responding to all of that and he trades at 11/4 to score at any point in the match.
