Manchester United vs Real Madrid Betting Preview Part 2
- By Rex Dalton on February 13, 2013 17:29 GMTIf United are to get the crucial away victory here - it will likely be because of a star-studded performance from the likes of Robin Van Persie. Wayne Rooney also knows a thing or two about scoring in crucial European fixtures and, with Real dispatching so many players to look after Ronaldo, it may open up space for Rooney who is now operating in more of a central role.

There is really no better time to be facing off against Madrid with the dressing room turmoil and some hit-and-miss performances dotting the entire season. There is a lot to like about United’ s chances and this is probably the highest price they will be floated at all season long.
It will be quite easy for Real Madrid to make a mistake - this United side are much more clinical than ones in the past and, even though they are not quite yet the finished product, this side has surpassed expectations and are 12 points ahead at the top of the Premier League.
The correct score margins for tonight’s affair tell the real story - the favoured outcomes are all trading at 9/1 and they include a 1-0 result to Real, a 2-1 result to Real and a 1-1 draw, which would effectively put United in the driver’s seat with the away goal.
Both teams are favoured to score - it’s priced at 6/10.
In regards to the goalscorer betting on offer, Robin Van Persie is (unsurprisingly) the favoured United striker in this one with a 2/1 anytime price. Wayne Rooney is a solid 7/2 to grab an anytime goal - you know that both of them are going to be starting so look for those prices to take a late hit when the teamsheets are revealed.
Other United strikers include Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck both trading at a 7/2 price.
This would be a great platform for Shinji Kagawa to step up and he’s 11/2 anytime. Tom Cleverley will get chances and he’s a solid 7/1 for an anytime goal. Look for Manchester United to put the press on here and do their best to notch a goal - the bookmakers favour them to score as well despite favouring Real to get the outright result. A score draw would them just fine but a 1-1 would be especially solid. This is also a huge opportunity for David De Gea to finally put the doubters to rest.
