MANCHESTER UNITED VS TOTTENHAM BETTING TIPS
Harry Redknapp's men have made one of their best starts in years and stand atop the Premiership with an undefeated record. They made examples of Liverpool on day one and, despite some last minute heroics at Birmingham, have been able to dispose of virtually whoever they came up against. They face their first genuine test of the season as Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United side head to London for the 5:30 match on Saturday. Top UK bookmaker William Hill has some very solid odds out for this fixture. Spurs are listed at 21/10 for the outright win with the draw at 23/10 and United at a 13/10 price tag. I like that price on United and I fancy them to take all three points in this encounter. It won't be an easy one, though, and I expect Aaron Lennon to be anticipating a duel with Patrice Evra that should last all match long. The bookies favourite correct score is a 1-1 draw at 11/2. A 1-0 victory pays 6/1 to United and 7/1 for Spurs. 2-0 United is 9/1 while it pays out at 12/1 for Tottenham. 2-1 is a very plausible scoreline for this type of encounter and it pays 10/1 to Spurs and 15/2 for Manchester United. United are 3/1 to win both halves with Spurs paying out at 9/2 for the same achievement. Draw/Man United pays 9/2 while Draw/Tottenham is 6/1. Should United go into half-time behind and manage to win it, you're looking at a very tidy 22/1 payday. Wayne Rooney is the favoured first goalscorer and is 11/2 to score first or last. Rooney carries a 6/4 price to score anytime- a price I consider quite solid. Michael Owen and Dimitar Berbatov are 13/2 first or last and 15/8 anytime. Keep your eyes on Nani in this fixture if he gets the start, I think he's had a very progressive season so far and looks more comfortable on the ball. He is 12/1 first or last and 5/1 anytime. Understandably, Jermain Defoe is 7/4 anytime and 6/1 first or last. Robbie Keane and Peter Crouch are at 15/2 first/last and 9/4 anytime. Aaron Lennon is 12/1 first and last and 11/2 anytime- that's a great price. I'm confident that United should have what it takes to get the result here. Spurs are playing solid and could very well get the result. I think a 2-1 or 3-2 margin isn't out of the question and I like a Nani/2-1 to United scorecast bet should the Cape Verdean get the start. Berbatov to score the winning goal would be poetic justice.
