MANNY PACQUIAO LISTED AT 2/1 TO BEAT OSCAR DE LA HOYA
As this weekend's titanic clash in Vegas draws closer, bookmakers are cutting odds on a victory by Manny Pacquiao in his battle with superstar Oscar De La Hoya. Considered by many to be the best pound for pound fighter in the world, Pacquiao has never actually been the favourite at any point for this fight. The world of boxing could be rocked as Pac-Man is believed to be coming in with a specific game plan to counter De La Hoya's tactical nous. KNOCKOUT ODDSIn terms of outright betting, De La Hoya is listed as a 4/11 favourite to take the fight either by KO, TKO, DQ or decision. A points victory for De La Hoya is paying out at a meagre 11/8, indicating that a KO victory is the likeliest method for a De La Hoya victory. Bookmakers believe that Pacquiao won't be able to go the distance, as odds of a De La Hoya knockout, TKO or DQ victory are listed at 20/1 between round 1 and round 10. A Pacquiao victory via KO, TKO or DQ seems to be a real long-shot for 888sport, as they've listed that type of victory at odds between 50 and 66/1. THE RESULTAs a fighter who is really on the up-and-up I can't understand why Pacquiao isn't being backed at shorter odds. Personally, I think that he's the favourite for this fight. De La Hoya doesn't need to fight any more if he doesn't want to and I really don't see where the next big step is for Oscar even if he wins. I think Pacquiao has much more to fight for and he's in the process of moving up a weight-class. This one is likely going to go the distance and the longer it goes on- the better things will start to look for Manny Pacquiao. RECOMMENDATION:Back Pacquiao to win at 2/1 with 888sport.Back a Pacquiao KO, TKO or DQ victory in the 11th round at 50/1.
